Yesterday I had a few bevvies with John McK and Big Dave and then stayed inside at night – out of the cold. Today has been about washing and drying clothes and not much else. A trip to the local supermarket was the highlight of the day.
I thought I’d spend some time getting myself organised for my upcoming holiday but will probably leave it until next weekend. All the external stuff has been taken care of, it’s just getting myself organised and ready now. Nothing like a last minute rush to get the adrenalin going
As I began to write this I received a call from the lovely Cliff in London – a friend of mine and Yoda’s for eons. We talked for two hours! Even with the two second delay caused by a bad line, we still managed to natter away forever.
The call prompted me to look through some old photo albums for shots of Cliff. I found a couple of classics from Cliff’s famous barbeque in 1998. I was on my infamous ‘world tour of North America’ at the time but got a very cheap fare from Toronto to London return and was a surprise guest at the barbeque!
It was a rather special day with people from all over – including a couple of others from Australia – in attendance. Yoda, who was in Sweden at the time, flew over to attend. Those were the crazy fun days when anything and everything seemed possible.
I even managed to find a shot of myself with with this gorgeous guy from Finland or somewhere Scandinavian at the same BBQ. I think his name was Jorni or something similar.
Now that I’ve indulged myself in this visual journey down memory lane, it’s time to wrap up the weekend and hit the sack.
